So, like...uh...yeah

Internetz, may I say how grateful I am to those of you who so graciously shared your excitement with Irish Boy and I about our decision to pursue adoption?

I know that I've probably lost some followers because of it - but to know that there are still so many of you rooting for us means so much.

That said, now that we are homestudy approved, there's not a whole heck of a lot to talk about! We are definitely in the waiting game and hence the title of this post, there isn't a whole heck of a lot to say!

Admittedly, every time the telephone rings, my heart skips a beat and I say a silent prayer that it's our social worker with news.

So far? No news.

Also? My damn telephone rings. A lot.

But Internetz, I am in a good place. I'm having trouble finding the words for it, but my heart feels, well, content.

I must be in a good place because for the first time in the midst of many (failed) attempts, I am taking care of myself. I am eating well, losing some (much needed) weight (in a safe way - no crash diets here!), sleeping better and dare I say it, feeling optimistic?

This whole "healthy living" routine has proved to be a great distraction in this waiting game. I've also been cooking up a storm and have found fantastic new recipes for banana muffins, baked chicken tenders and then some!

So, in honour of my cooking bug, do you have a favourite recipe that you'd like to share with me, Internetz? Post it below - or share a link! Keep me busy!

I'm not sure if I've posted a comment before but I'm so happy you're feeling optimistic! It sounds like you guys are in a great place and I really hope one of the next calls IS your social worker.

Awesome! I was amazed at how much better I felt once we got off the fertility roller coaster and started adoption proceedings. Yes, it's hard, but I felt like we had more control. Oh, and I lost 20 pounds.

And, really, there is nothing better than making cookies. Any kind.

I'm so excited that you're moving forward with adoption and already homestudy approved! I can't wait to see a post from you once that phone call comes!!!

I love to bake, so my recipes might not help with the eating-well, losing weight thing. But if you'd like to share the recipes you mentioned...

Awesome that things are moving along. I also have been cooking like a fool lately. I made this recipe recently and it was delicious. Pretty easy, and wholesome too.

Congrats! So happy that you all are persuing adoption, that's wonderful :) I too reached the point where I wanted contentment and doesn't it feel good when you get to that place.

I'll still be reading and can't wait for you to share your child with us.

I just googled "provera sleepy" and got a link to your blog--specifically to a great post that's about a year old.

So then I wanted to see how things were going for you, and I'm glad to see that you're moving forward! Congrats on being in a good place. I'm following and hoping your wait isn't too long :)

Crossing my fingers that your wait does not last too much longer! As for recipes, my husband and I just found a great (healthy!) recipe for baked chicken. Dip it in a little bit of egg and coated it with panko breadcrumbs mixed with a teaspoon of cayenne pepper. It's like fried chicken with a little kick... and without all that grease!

I'm so thrilled for you - I hope soon that phone call IS from your SW and you're sharing even more exciting news with us!

Just found your blog and I wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS!! We too are adopting and are really, really excited about it. I also have a list of blogs on the left toolbar of my blog with links to other adopting mamas (most are international adoption, I am not sure what you are pursing). I find their energy contagious and picture with them and their kiddos encouraging. Good luck on your journey, and I will look forward to seeing a beautiful picture of you and your new baby on this blog in the future (soon hopefully, ha!)

Much love,
Future Mama

Coincidentally, we just switched from TTC to waiting-to-adopt, and I just posted a recipe (http://www.bakeonebuyone.com/2011/01/blogoversary-and-recipe.html). Wishing you much luck and a short wait!
