Speculum? Owned.

That's right, Internetz, I owned that speculum this morning. Not only that, I owned the catheter as well. My cervix was like Chuck Norris, it didn't even need the catheter, it just marched those sperm in there.

I have no idea what that means. But yes, I'm giggling at my own joke. Sad, but true.

I cannot thank all of you enough. The comments on here and on Twitter over the past couple of days have kept me going. Over the weekend I hope to be able to catch up with you personally to give my thanks and catch up with you.

When it was IUI time this morning, I was ready. I wore my SITM "Goddess of Good Fortune" socks and had the very lovely Nurse Awesome in the room for support. I have to even give credit to the doctor who was much lovelier this time (I think Nurse Awesome had words with her).

Honestly, it was smooth sailing - dare I say the easiest yet. My cervix was definitely in cooperative mode. I've been a bit crampy all day, likely in part due to the IUI but also I think some cramping can be attributed to ovulation pains. My blood work from this morning got a big thumbs up from Nurse Awesome before I left the clinic and she felt super positive about the timing of all of this.

So now we wait. I have the pleasure of invading Ladyville with progesterone suppositories twice a day for the next couple of weeks, but you know what, even though they're a pain in the ass, if they help result in good news in a couple of weeks, I'll do just about anything. I'll also continue my daily listening of the Circle+Bloom program.

I am cautiously optimistic. This has been my best medicated cycle to date. I responded well to the meds and in good time. I was able to produce multiple good looking follicles. But, is that enough? I guess only time will tell.

I guess all I can say is, come on follicles! Own that sperm!

Your Own the Speculum campaign sounds a lot like Canada's Own the Podium Olympic slogan. And Canada rocked the gold medal standings. So listen up eggs, and Own Those Sperm! And uterus? Own That Embryo! (Hey - it worked for our athletes, why not your lady bits?)
