The Dark Side

At long last the evil flu bug that had infested me last week seems to have cleared! I am finally feeling like myself again.

Well, kind of.

Over the past five days I have been taking Provera. My very first venture down the Provera path if you will.

Internetz, holy crow, Provera is one hell of a drug! I say this because I am usually immune to major side effects from the fertility drugs. But this, well, wow.

Provera turned me into the bitch from hell. No, I'm not being harsh. I'm actually probably being pretty kind. For the past five days, I have, for the most part, had the shortest temper known to humankind. Everything irritated me. Everyone irritated me. Even in my flu-ridden state I was able to get pretty pissed off.

Poor Irish Boy, he got the brunt of it. I'm truly surprised he didn't lock himself in the "man cave" (aka the garage) and just wait it out.

It was, well, an interesting ride to say the very least. But this evening I swallowed my last pill. I also noticed some telltale streaks on the TP so I would imagine that I will be calling the fertility clinic tomorrow morning to announce my Day 1.

So I guess this is it. The ultrasound wand will be up where the sun don't shine in a matter of days. My elusive veins will be poked and prodded for blood. And my poor backside will see the first of many IM shots. Joy.

Here we go again!

Glad you are feeling better! Urgh, on the Provera. There always seems to be one medication that gets everybody who is immune! Pokes, prods, oh my! :)

I'm glad that the flu appears to be in retreat and that the stint with Provera is almost over. I actually am dreading the day my OB tells me we are going to try some fertility drugs. I am a mega-biotch-from-hell when I'm PMSing, and I can't imagine what I would be like on drugs.

Glad your feeling better, but so sorry the provera is affecting you so much. I normally had to wait five days after taking provera, so your a quick responder. Good luck to your next cycle :)

It is comforting to know I am not the only one who turns into a rage machine when I take Provera, LOL! It's brutal!

Sorry about the Provera. I just took my last one on Sunday. I think my worst day was Friday, but my lucky DH was out of town! The man is smart! Still haven't had the visit from AF. Good job getting it so early! :O)

Sorry to hear the provera has made you so crabby (understatement, I suspect) -- it's no fun being so angry all the time, as my lu.pron experience is teaching me. But good to hear that the cycle is heading forward and that the flu is on its way out!
